ik wou kunstschilder worden, al sinds mijn kinderjaren. 

Ik hou van een magische of mysterieuze sfeer in mijn werken en elk werk is telkens een nieuwe uitdaging want ik wil alles uitproberen : portretten, landschappen, stillevens, naakt, verhalen, series, marines en nog veel anders.

Gladde oppervlakken hebben mijn voorkeur, vandaar dat ik fijn linnen gebruik of hout.

Het is een voortdurende evolutie. Ik heb veel schetsen op papier gemaakt, onmiddellijk op het doek en tegenwoordig teken ik vooral op iPad.

Indien ik niet tevreden ben over het resultaat laat ik mijn werk liggen maar blijf erover nadenken en doorgaans komt er wel een idee om het aan te passen. Een andere methode is een foto te nemen van het doek waarover ik niet tevreden ben die ik dan op iPad bewerk tot het resultaat mij bevalt  en waarop ik mijn werk opnieuw aanpas. Indien er geen inspiratie meer komt om het te verbeteren, herbegin ik. 

Ik houd nooit een doek waarover ik niet tevreden ben tenzij om het later aan te passen.

Beelden uit documentaires, films, herinneringen blijven in mijn geheugen hangen en vroeg of laat komen die op het doek of in een schets terecht. die beelden zijn meestal vervormd door mijn fantasie en kloppen niet meer met de oorspronkelijke beelden.

Ik heb grote bewondering voor veel kunstenaars zoals o.a. David Hockney, Léon Spilliaert, Alessandro Sicioldr,

Rudolf Wacker, Franz Lerch, Marie-Louise  Von Motesiczky, Gustave Klimt, Alfons Mucha,  Maurice Denis,  Alice Neel,  Wiliam Degouve de Nuncques, Paul Gauguin, John Singer Sargent etc.

Alhoewel ik zeker niet geneigd ben om bepaalde aspecten van hun werk over te nemen heb ik wellicht zekere affiniteiten met sommige van hen.

Mijn werk is figuratief maar niet echt realistisch. Je zou het magisch realistisch kunnen noemen.

Des images de documentaires, de films, des souvenirs me trottent dans la tête et, tôt ou tard, je finis par en faire un dessin ou un tableau. Ces images sont en général déformées par mon souvenir et ne correspondent plus à leur image d’origine.

Le visage humain et ses expressions me fascinent, c'est pourquoi d'autres portraits verront certainement le jour.

Je rêvais depuis ma plus tendre enfance de devenir artiste peintre.

J’aime mettre une atmosphère un peu magique ou mystérieuse dans mes tableaux. Chaque tableau est un nouveau défi. Je veux tout essayer : portraits, paysages, natures mortes, nus, histoires, séries, marines et bien d’autres sujets.

​​Je préfère les toiles fines ou le bois car j’aime les surfaces lisses.

​Ma méthode de travail évolue constamment. J’ai fait beaucoup de croquis sur papier que j’interprétais directement sur la toile ou je faisais le croquis sur la toile. Actuellement je dessine pratiquement uniquement sur mon iPad. Cela  m’aide à représenter plus exactement ce que j’ai en tête.

Si je ne suis pas satisfaite du résultat, j’abandonne  mon travail parfois pendant des mois, mais je continue à y réfléchir et, en général, une idée me vient à l’esprit qui donne finalement de bons résultats. Une autre méthode est de prendre une photo du tableau qui ne me plaît pas et de faire des essais sur iPad (changements de couleurs ou de forme) jusqu’à ce que le résultat me plaise.  Ensuite je reprends le pinceau.

Je ne garde jamais les tableaux qui ne me plaisent pas et je réutilise leurs toiles pour peindre de  nouveaux tableaux.

Je n’ai certainement pas tendance à reprendre certains aspects de leur travail mais j'ai probablement bien des affinités avec certains d’entre eux.

Mon travail est figuratif mais pas vraiment réaliste.

Images from nature, documentaries and memories continue to inspire me.

 

A story also immediately conjures up images that I try to display, although I always have more images in my head than time to display them on canvas.

I am fascinated by the expressions of the human face, which is why I will certainly still make portraits.

 

I like a mysterious or magical touch but it’s not always there or sometimes others see this even when I don't ...

 It has been my dream to become an artist painter since my childhood.

I love a magical or mysterious atmosphere in my works and every work is always a new challenge because I want to try everything: portraits, landscapes, still lives, nude, stories, series, marines and many other things.

I prefer working with smooth surfaces, which is why I use fine linen or wood.

It is an ongoing evolution. I have made many sketches on paper, but nowadays I also make my sketches immediately on the canvas or on iPad.

If I am not satisfied with the result, I leave my work be for a moment, but keep thinking about it and usually there is an idea that comes to adjust and improve it. Another method is to take a photo of the canvas that I am not satisfied with, which I then edit on iPad until I like the result and through which I adjust my work again. If there is no more inspiration to improve it, I just start over.

I never keep a canvas I am not satisfied with except if I plan to change it later.

Images from documentaries, films and memories remain in my memory and sooner or later they end up on the canvas or in a sketch. Those images are usually distorted by my imagination and no longer match the original images.

 

I have great admiration for many artists such as, among others, David Hockney, Léon Spilliaert, Alessandro Sicioldr, Rudolf Wacker, Franz Lerch, Marie-Louise Von Motesiczky, Gustave Klimt, Alfons Mucha, Maurice Denis, Alice Neel, Wiliam Degouve de Nuncques, Paul Gauguin, John Singer Sargent etc.

 

Although I am certainly not inclined to take over certain aspects of their work, I may have certain affinities with some of them.

​

My work is figurative but not really realistic. You could call it magic realistic.
